ABOUT MASO CAPITAL
Maso Capital is an Asia focused multi-asset class investment firm focused on Event Driven and Convertible Bond Arbitrage.
Based in Hong Kong, Maso launched in January 2013 and is currently a team of 13 people.
Our ethos allows us to dynamically allocate capital across sub-strategies based on optimal risk/reward profiles.
Maso utilizes a dynamic combination of strategies to deliver repeatable risk adjusted, asymmetric returns across market cycles. Our approach is nimble and opportunistic.
We aim to utilize our relationships to help drive and deliver corporate reform and restructuring.
MEET THE TEAM
Manoj Jain
Co-Chief Investment Officer
Prior to creating Maso, Mr. Jain spent 9 years at Och-Ziff (2003 – 2012) including 7 years in Asia building the investment platform and was a Managing Director since 2007 responsible for Asia merger arbitrage, event driven and capital markets. Prior to Och-Ziff, Mr. Jain was an Analyst in Mergers and Acquisitions at Credit Suisse First Boston (2001 – 2003).
Mr. Jain holds an M.A. in Management Studies from Cambridge University, U.K.
Sohit Khurana
Co-Chief Investment Officer
Prior to creating Maso, Mr. Khurana spent 5 years at Och-Ziff Asia (2007 – 2012) as Managing Director and co-manager of the Asia convertible bond book with responsibility for macro hedging. Mr. Khurana also founded the Asia flow credit business.
Prior to Och-Ziff, Mr. Khurana was in Structured Credit at Cambridge Place Investment Management (2004 – 2007). Previously Mr. Khurana spent a number of years trading ABS/MBS and derivatives at Deutsche Bank (1996 – 2001) and Merrill Lynch (1994 – 1996). Mr. Khurana holds a B.Sc. (Econ.) in Economics from London School of Economics and M.B.A. from Duke University. (2001 – 2003 MBA).
Allan Finnerty
Chief Operating Officer
Prior to founding Maso, Mr. Finnerty was Chief Financial Officer (Asia) of Mount Kellett Capital Management responsible for all financial and operational functions in Asia. Prior to Mount Kellett Capital Management, Mr. Finnerty spent a total of 11 years at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in finance and operational roles in Europe and Asia. Mr. Finnerty holds a BComm from the National University of Ireland and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
